A Las Vegas company is seeking a dependable, passionate, and hardworking individual to fill the position of Head Cultivator for its state licensed cannabis facility. This person will have the unique opportunity to be part of a team that grows cannabis in a controlled, technologically advanced system that is fully compliant with all state rules and regulations.
Already aligned with world renowned grow partners outlining SOPs with their management team and their Head Cultivator would be working closely with accomplished industry leaders. This company promotes a positive environment for both its plants and its team members to grow and flourish. The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented person with 3-5 years' experience managing a licensed marijuana cultivation facility. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
The Head Cultivator is responsible for managing cultivation and growing operations by helping create and implement SOPs. Weekly updates to management are required to consistently re-address grow tactics.
Responsibilities Include:
 Managing a team that handles all aspects of cultivation in a large-scale indoor grow facility.
 Must be experienced in cloning, transplanting, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, pest management, harvesting, drying, trimming, waste disposal and inventory management.
 Outline specific roles and responsibilities for plant technicians and work with management to build a team.
 Assist management in the creation of SOPs, maintain indoor plant growing protocols, develop and test nutrient regiments, and drive to improve planting techniques and yields
 Work with the Operations Manager to perform all cultivation tracking and record keeping functions within the seed to sale electronic system (Metrc) in compliance with the department's rules and regulations.
 Manage plant scheduling to accurately project all growing requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to maximize high-quality yield with efficiency and attention to production costs.
 Schedule, manage and oversee cloning processes, achieving a minimum 90% success rate.
 Execute pest management program including elimination of all types of mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc.
 Maintain irrigation, climate control systems, cleaning, sanitation, hazard action plans and alert management if there are issues.
 Routine daily activities required to ensure plant maintenance and general operation of the cultivation areas.
Desired Experience and Skills
 Looking for a professional with a background in horticulture, agriculture or commercial grow facility production and at least 4 years' experience working in a licensed indoor marijuana facility operation. Multi-tier growing facility would be a plus.
 Minimum of 2 years of lead grower experience working in a licensed indoor marijuana facility operation.
 Operations management mindset as well as a team builder.
 Mastery of all grow mediums and irrigation methods.
 Knowledge of large scale commercial plan plant growing including crop rotation management, nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, and environmental controls.
 Knowledge of plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies and toxicity
 Advanced knowledge of the cannabis plant and genetics.
 Must be adept at industry best-practices and current on new techniques and insight with respect to nutrient of individual strains, high yield recipes, controlled stress environments to different lighting systems and set ups.
Skills and Requirements
 At least 21 years of age.
 No felony convictions in the past 10 years.
