We seek a social media specialist to manage and grow our social presence. We're a tech startup in an emerging industry offering Software as a Service (SaaS). Our purpose is to inspire people to live better lives through exploring the benefits of cannabis. We help by enabling them to make informed decisions.
We're looking for a college student or recent graduate who is interested in the professional cannabis industry. Someone who naturally integrates social media in capturing their life and making it a part of their digital social life. Ideally you'd already have a habit of engaging with multiple social media outlets on a daily basis. You'll get to engage with users directly as well.
Interns will have an opportunity to impact our existing social community and build brand loyalty and identity. You'll gain experience in learning social media management skills, tools, and techniques, applying them, and tracking your results. We also offer you through this opportunity a way to work in an emerging industry and help solve the challenges therein.
You are expected to work 15 hours per week with the opportunity for more hours, ideally spending some time each day engaging with the associated networks. This position is mobile. You'll meet weekly in Santa Cruz, and you can work remotely for some hours. You'll also be eligible for a half-priced Cruzio CoWorking membership.
This unpaid position is open starting January 31st, 2017.
How to create a long term social media plan and calendar.
Relationship building with our online community by maintaining Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other media accounts.
How to engage with social media channels using HootSuite, and report results and new ideas to our team.
Create compelling content that will be shared by influencers.
Creative feedback and viral loops between our Facebook Page, twitter, and blog accounts .
Assist our Director of Social Media Marketing in building and presenting social media strategy.
Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.
What We Require:
Strong communication skills.
Interest in the industry and community engagement and development
Proficient in Google Drive suite
Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
Creative and Flexible.
Familiarity with social networking sites including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook desired, but we will also train.
Frequent personal social media engagement.
